  • Jackson County Public Schools serves middle school students at each of our K-8 schools. High school students are served at one of our four high schools including one comprehensive high school, two early-colleges, and an alternative school. Standards-based instruction and a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) are the focus of core instruction and district initiatives.

  • Jackson County Public Schools supports multilingual learners through a variety of means. Our ML program serves students at all schools who qualify for support based on home language surveys and English language proficiency assessments. State and federal guidelines are used to build and measure the success of our ML program. The North Carolina State School Board policy uses WIDA’s performance definitions to measure English language proficiency.
