SMHS Sophomore Wins Art Award

Smoky Mountain High School sophomore, Autumn Hinton, has earned a Silver Key at the WNC Regional Scholastic Art Awards for her painting, "Departure." Autumn is a student in Dr. Autumn Hall's Honors Visual Arts course. Students from the region in grades 7 through 12 are invited to submit work for this special juried competition. Autumn's artwork will be displayed with the artwork of other winners from the region at the Asheville Art Museum from Feb. 6 through Mar. 8. All award recipients will be honored at a ceremony on Sunday, Feb. 9, at the Wortham Center for Performing Arts.
