JCPS Moves To Plan A For 6-12 On April 5
The Jackson County Board of Education has voted to return students in grades 6-12 to school four days a week beginning on Monday, Apr. 5, immediately following spring break. Smoky Mountain High School students who are currently attending school in-person two days a week will now attend on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Wednesdays will remain a remote-only day for all students. Remote-only students can remain remote-only. This is the same plan that is already being followed by students in PreK-5. Masks will be required along with other precautions to help keep everyone safe.
During the first week of the new schedule, students who ride the bus can expect to be picked up and dropped off at approximately the same time as their current bus schedule. Once the school has worked through any changes to the bus routes as a result of this new plan, those times will become more specific.
Please call the school at 586-2177 with any questions.
