Academics

Blue Ridge Early College is a North Carolina Cooperative Innovative High School. While on BREC campus, students have the flexibility of taking Southwestern Community College (SCC) courses to complete an Associate degree, or they may take SCC courses to obtain a workforce certificate, all while completing high school courses for a high school diploma. Blue Ridge Early College continues to maintain a high graduation rate with greater than 95% of students graduating.

The college course are tuition-free and offer the students the opportunity to complete a high school diploma and associate degree within four years. Although students are often able to attain both their high school diploma and Associate in Arts degree in just four years, the school allows a full five years for students to complete necessary coursework without feeling overwhelmed. No matter the pathway, BREC helps students achieve their academic aspirations.

In partnership with the Glenville Cashiers Fire Department, we are proud to be one of the few schools across North Carolina to provide the vocational preparation for the NIMS certification for Public Safety and the Fire Fighter Technology program. In addition to our many instructional resources, our campus provides each student with an individual computer laptop. Our ability to match the digital resources with our content standards is valuable. This allows for individualized learning and access to collaboration that mirrors our upcoming workforce environment.

Our entire team is dedicated to supporting the whole child and the community of those who are invested in their development. Through our small, collaborative learning atmosphere, our campus is a safe and engaging environment for our students.
