Technology

The Technology Department serves teaching and learning in Jackson County Public Schools by providing both technical and instructional support, professional development, and logistical assistance. The responsibilities of the department include maintenance of the fiber-optic and copper wired networks, the district-wide wireless network, and a complex backbone of file servers, routers, and other network appliances. A staff of four technicians deploys and services the district's 3,000+ computing devices along with hundreds of printers, surveillance cameras, and other network-connected hardware. In addition, the department provides software support, assists with purchasing, and manages the district's online presence including websites and social media.
